About Us

She gained CAH (Companian Animal Hygienist) qualification in 2003, attended workshops conducted by Jodie Graham, NCMG (USA) (National Certified Master Groomer) in 2004 and was coached by Jodie during a two week one-on-one workshop in July, 2007.

Having your dog groomed at Divine Dogs, is a friendly experience. Located in the back garden of her home in Myaree, Serena has established her salon in a caravan.

The salon is equipped with the latest equipment - stainless steel bath and hydrosurge bathing system, twin motor force dryer, hydraulic table and clippervac system, clipper machines, blades and snap-on-comb attachments.P1030342.JPG

Outside the caravan, dogs are contained in a fenced-off area of the garden where they can socialise with other dogs. Serena's family pets, Geoffrey (King Charles Spaniel), Atlas (Collie rough), Lawrence (Devon Rex cat) and a pond full of motor bike frogs, are apart of this contented scene.

Divine Dogs is a member of the Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) and Serena has always supported the professional association of the pet grooming industry. In recent years, PIAA has set about introducing rigorous industry standards where previously none have been. Now there are PIAA-endorsed grooming courses being conducted at TAFE colleges and by private businesses around Australia.

It is the intention of the PIAA to elevate the status and standard of pet grooming through education and accreditation and enable those in the industry who wish to operate a professional and thoroughly ethical business to be recognised for striving to and meeting these standards.

At Divine Dogs we do subscribe to the highest pet industry standards in the care and grooming of your pet, with an emphasis on:

  • your pet’s health, safety and comfort
  • a hygienic and pleasant environment
  • products selected for safety and quality P5230150.JPG
  • attention to detail

Individual records are maintained about your pet

  • owner's name, address and phone numbers
  • emergency and veterinary contact details
  • pet’s name, special needs and health status (heart conditions, skin conditions, medications, epilepsy, allergies, pregnancy etc)
  • details of the clip or groom, equipment used and style requested.

You will be asked to provide this information at your first appointment and we would appreciate being kept informed of any changes.

New clients receive a report of observations made of your pet which may concern its health and may require veterinary attention.

Serena is currently preparing Divine Dogs for business accreditation with PIAA during 2008, before embarking on the rigorous practical and theory examinations to gain her Certified Master Groomer (Aust) qualification during 2009.
